WHAT IS SELF DEFENCE?
Self Defence is the act of defending oneself, another, property or your home from a physical attack. It can also be claimed in the assisting in the prevention of a crime.
This can include the use of physical force if necessary.
DEFINITION:
Self-Defence is a complete legal defence. The defence of Self-Defence would be claimed if you were arrested and charged with an offence (such as assault, GBH or murder), but the reason you acted with physical force was to prevent injury to either yourself or other people. Alternatively, you may be using physical force to protect your property or to assist in the prevention of a crime.

The S.D.F. was founded & launched in JUNE 2000 for the new millennium year. Then and now the
Founder and Head was and is DAVID TURTON.
David was a 7 th Dan Black Belt in the year 2000, he was eventually graded to 10 th Dan Black Belt in 2013 via the I.B.A. (International Budo Association).
The I.B.A. was founded by the late great PHIL MILNER 10 th Dan who was a very close friend and mentor to David Turton. After Mr Milner’s sad death David Turton became close friends to the I.B.A.’s DAVE ALLEN 10 th Dan who was instrumental in awarding David Turton his 10 th Dan.
At the time of the S.D.F.’s launch and subsequently since, Mr David Turton was and is the OFFICIALLY
highest graded ‘pure’ self defence instructor in Europe.
More on David Turton in the ‘Officials ‘pages.
When the term ‘self-defence’ is used, most people tend to think of the
‘martial arts’ scenarios. COMPLETE self-defence is much more than that.
Every citizen should be able to feel ‘safe’ and in the S.D.F.
We cater for all members of society going beyond the martial arts types of personal safety
with methods and advice for everyone.
Indeed half (50%) of our training programmes are for NON martial arts
clubs, and are designed for ‘the general public’ including schools and
colleges, organisations etc.
Check out our many bespoke programmes for one that will fill YOUR
needs.
